Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday mornings, 10 - 11.45.

The Short-Term Wheelchair Loan Charity has been set up to help local people who need to hire or loan a wheelchair on a temporary basis.
Manual wheelchairs can be borrowed for up to three months. They can also be borrowed if you are waiting to be assessed by the NHS Wheelchair Service but haven’t yet been given a chair.
There are wheelchairs suitable for young children and most adults.
WE ARE NOW IN THE LANDERMERE CENTRE AT CLACTON HOSPITAL AND CONTINUE TO HELP THE WHOLE CO POSTCODE AREA INCLUDING OFFERING A DELIVERY SERVICE.
Please note the service does not offer electrically powered wheelchairs.
Whatever the problem,
we're here to help.
Our charity exists to provide wheelchairs at short notice for those who have a temporary need. If you require long-term or permanent use of a wheelchair you should approach the Health Authority through your GP, or ask your Occupational Therapist.
How much does it cost?
The service is free. However, we do request a deposit of £40 which can be refunded in full provided the equipment is returned by the agreed date in good working order. Please see Donations below.

Our survival depends on donations from you. If you think we’re doing a good job please lend us a helping hand. Donate by contacting the office on the details below, or by popping in and seeing one of our friendly staff between 10 and 12, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday mornings.
Thank you for you kindness, in turn we will endeavour to continue to provide a valuable service for those in need.
We also accept donated wheelchairs.
